Taste your way through Tuscany and Umbria with Monica & Mark!

Gastronomic and cultural 8 day tour of Tuscany/Umbria

Departs October 7, 2009

Take wining, dining and traveling to extraordinary levels! Monica and Mark have partnered with Doumina Whyman, The Enthusiastic Traveler, to offer you a fabulous 7 night, 8 day trip to Tuscany and Umbria.

You will experience the local people and traditions of these amazing regions through the eyes of the locals who live and love there. Doumina has created a food and wine tour that includes exclusive meals, hands-on cooking classes, famous art, historic towns, world famous churches, ancient ruins, Small Vineyard’s wineries, and so much more. We will travel together for 8 days, share deluxe accommodations for 7 nights, and because 20 of us are sharing the costs, the price for this tour is unbeatable!

We invite you to look over our itinerary and notes. If you are interested in joining us for this very limited invitation to Italy, send me an email as soon as possible. Please make sure it includes your name, phone number, mailing address and the number of people that you would like to bring.

Our Bra Was Voted 'Most Unique' At Bras For A Cause!

What we won:

There were over 90 bras to vote on, and only 3 categories: Funniest Bra, Prettiest Bra, and Most Unique. We are so proud to win Most Unique!

How we got there:

I knew what I wanted our bra to look like and I bought a mannequin torso on Ebay that I thought would really stand out. I described what I wanted to Renee and that is all it took.

Renee worked her magic, reached into my imagination, and created a bra that was exactly how I envisioned it when I described it to her.

She made the bra out of our ricciarelli cookies (almond) and she prettied it up with frosting 'lace'. It is fully cooked and ready to eat!

We named it "Sweet Support".

Who was with us:

We had 2 extra tickets at our table so we raffled them off and donated the proceeds back to Bras For A Cause. These beautiful women are Chelsea and Liz and they won the raffle!

Who won Sweet Support:

Donna won the bid for the bra and here she is with our fabulous Renee, the bra, and me.

Local Art in the Café-Ongoing

Come in and check it out!

In the stairwell we have some wonderful works by kids at Kitsap Art School of the Arts You will be very impressed by these kids and their talents!

Upstairs we have the work of Libby Sullivan. You loved her oils and watercolors when they were up this Spring and they are as beautiful as ever.

Downstairs enjoy the mixed media/watercolors by Janet Hayford and Deanna Hansen. These ladies are two of our favorite customers and favorite artists, and they have adorned our walls with beautiful angels and holiday scens.

Chris Hughes of Harmony Artworks has crafted the dream catchers that are in the windows, both upstairs and down.

We also have books by local authors:
Novelist Sarah Nilson, Columnist Sally Santana, Poet Elizabeth Ellen, and Novelist Wally Carlson and Chef Roberto Russo all have signed copies of their books for sale, and they make great gifts! We also have autographed copies of Roberto Russo's cook book 'Good Ciao'!

NEXT ART WALK: FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 6-8pm

Bring donations for the homeless and get a cookie and/or tastes of our house wines!

Preferred donations include:

Sleeping bags, blankets, warm clothing, Backpacks, pre-paid gas cards, canned food, travel sized toiletries, pre-paid phone cards, grocery store gift cards, and money so that we can buy the things our neighbors need most.

And as always our coffee is complimentary for everyone.

Our featured artists for the evening upstairs will be announced when we know.

Maybe another artist or two, and/or our authors will stop by as well; we are always happy to see them!
